Recent budget cuts because of declining enrollment at not only Chico State but across the state of California and the United States have left colleges with financial challenges. Jerry Ross, Chico State associate vice president for enrollment management, said enrollment issues are driving the decline and he and his team are working on how to counter that. “Chico State is a campus which hasn’t had to worry about enrollment for a long time,” Ross said. “Plenty of people were interested in Chico State and we rolled along for years without a problem.”
