Financial uncertainty is commonly cited as the top reason that students discontinue their studies at an institution. It is vital that students are supported academically, but also in understanding and navigating the financial aspects of their higher education journey. In an effort to address these issues, Canisius University in Buffalo, New York has taken steps to connect and coordinate the academic advising and student financial services offices to better support students.
In this 20-minute UB Ed Talk, the Assistant Vice President and Director of Student Records and Financial Services at Canisius will describe the impact of this initiative, and how the use of new technology and more intuitive staff processes has enabled these offices to help more students successfully continue their education.
