Upper Iowa University is making more cuts. Declaring "financial exigency," Upper Iowa University this week eliminated 13 faculty positions and two deans. Those and other cost-saving measures came after a financial consulting firm told the college it needed to cut $6.8 million in spending and raise $5.5 million by the end of next month. Upper Iowa previously had laid off 37 employees after eliminating seven sports programs and closing its satellite campuses in Wisconsin and Illinois.
