University of Nebraska president, board of regents still facing budget battle - KETV

University of Nebraska President Ted Carter again promised that students will not bear the brunt of the university's budget woes. But he's not yet ready to talk about where tuition goes from here. The legislature's appropriations committee advanced a budget increase of 2.5% for the university system — Carter had asked for 3%, and Gov. Pillen proposed 2%. Today, Carter told the board of regents that with declining enrollment and higher costs, "hard conversations" will be made about what the future of NU will be.
