Good start to the year as I put together a digital book on Online Presence and Belonging based on talks given at our UAL good practice event in December 2021:

In September I gave a talk at the ALT annual conference on ‘What is Critical Digital Pedagogy? and why is it important?’:

Its also been a year of developing new workshops – especially ones on Miro which is a great tool for collaborative online learning:

In November, the special edition of Spark (UAL’s teaching & learning journal) on Digital Education, that I edited was published:

It is available via the following link: https://sparkjournal.arts.ac.uk/index.php/spark/issue/view/11

Its been great to be helping out with the Anti-Racism and Learning Technology SIG and be involved in the organisation of their events, such as the webinar on the FutureLearn MOOC ‘Anti-Racist Approaches to Technology’, where , Liza Layne gave an overview of the content of the course, the types of activities students engaged with and a brief evaluation of the course:

This year I also started a new podcast series called ‘Critical Digital Pedagogy in HE’:

I really enjoyed the internal Digital Learning meet ups at Chelsea and LCC this year where we has some great discussions about learning design, the ARLT sig tool kit and further discussions about the HEA fellowships and CMALT:

Finally at the end of the year it was great to put on another another high profile event called Spark Live! based on the special edition:

Next year looks like its going to be exciting too – starting with a new publication in January – watch this space!!!
