Possible major cuts to come with UNL budget reallocation - Josie Golka, Daily Nebraskan

As the University of Nebraska-Lincoln explores budget cuts and program changes, obscure major programs may be on the chopping block. These program cuts come as impacts of the $58 million predicted university budget deficit by the end of the 2024-25 school year, as reported by university President Ted Carter in June.  The NU Board of Regents has not announced specific cuts or intended programs that will be leaving the university. Majors with seven or less enrolled students per year may be at risk, Carter said at the last Board of Regents meeting. UNL will continue to evaluate programs and make cuts over the 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic year.
