Common App Will Let Colleges Not See Applicants’ Races

The Common Application, which has more than 1,000 members, will give them the right not to see applicants’ races.

At the same time, the Common App will continue to collect the information.

The Common App hopes that its new policy will allow colleges, if the Supreme Court bars them from considering race in admissions, to show that they are following the law.

“We will continue to work with our member colleges and universities once the Supreme Court announces its decision to ensure they have the flexibility they need to comply with the law and can continue to bring in diverse classes,” said Jenny Rickard, president and CEO of the Common App.
