New College of Florida has reached an agreement with the U.S. Department of Education over alleged civil rights violations, CNN reported.

Details of the agreement were not released, but it follows the investigation of an unspecified civil rights complaint against the college alleging discrimination based on disability, according to CNN.

The complaint pertained specifically to New College’s website, as well as its postings on social media sites including Facebook, Instagram and X.

CNN cited a news release in which New College of Florida said it had taken “immediate action” to rectify alleged compliance issues, which stemmed from “years of inattentiveness to maintaining online compliance standards and effective guidelines for digital communications.”

The terms of the agreement will be implemented over a period of about eight months.
