At the level of individual faculty members, a mix of hyperinflation and government neglect of higher education funding mean that there has been an extraordinary drop in academic pay: in some cases, over 90%. I’m thinking particularly of the engineer strike at Petroleos de Venezuela. So, the university is very comprehensive.
