We have a new Dean of Student Success and Engagement, a new approach to the First Year Experience, and we are piloting a new approach to math, that I think will have a positive impact on student retention. It is in our innovative spirit – which never gets enough credit in higher education.

Dr. Pruitt -Logan’s career of contribution to higher education began at Howard University in 1950 as Resident Intern and Women’s Counselor. She later held the positions of Dean of Women and Dean of Students at Albany State College in Georgia and in a similar position at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee.

The proposed substantive change was approved by Clark’s accreditor, the New England Commission of Higher Education, in April 2021. Our BSDT students are meeting expected outcomes in retention, graduation and learning, including outcomes related to their performance in Clark liberal studies courses.
