Taiwan launches new scholarships in bid to keep international graduates

Taiwan is aiming to retain 210,000 international students after they have graduated in a bid to boost the region’s workforce. The education ministry will set up overseas offices in countries including Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines to help meet its new target of attracting 320,000 international students by 2030.

Taiwan’s government watchdog has accused three ministries of failing to protect overseas students from exploitation as the island sets out plans to attract 10,000 more international students over the next four years. It recommended more screening for trafficking among vulnerable populations, including international students.
